Do a search for “avid Projects” in your computer…chances are one version put the folder in one place and the new install place it somewhere else…I have had this happen on most updates…try switching between private and shared projects as well.

Are you exporting QT Reference? Its just pointing to the original video file in avid…what I do is export QT reference and encode in a 3rd party encoder..(procoder, sorenson, cinema craft) to creat m2v files…import into Encore…it will look awesome…non of Avid’s encoders do well on their own for dvd.

  • I must have missed your post above where you said you didn’t have the same effects in your home puter as the office one. In which case you need to upgrade your home computer…Lets say you do that…wouldn’t a portable hard drive meet your needs. Carry copies of the media and project files back and forth from office to home. Heck, they’re freakin’ huge these days. Maybe you can even get work to buy you one…

  • You can do one better…you can capture at 15:1 and edit your piece and then recapture at whatever res, including hd, that you want. Its called doing an offline and onlining it. Avid does it quite well and the 15:1 takes up very liitle space. great for doing it on a laptop.
