I agree with Gabriel’s suggestion.
To be clear, what folks have suggested here is a video file codec that can played on computers.
If you want to make a dvd that involves a different more involved workflow.

Robert, I use a speaker preamp with multiple inputs. It works rather well when I need to switch from AJA audio to system audio.

I have had a dialog with Adobe over this issue recently. Heres a thread that discusses it. It has happened to me with both regular rendered clips and dynamically rendered clips. But its sporadic and hard to relate to any one thing.

FWIW this saving issues seems to be affecting only Macs. I have never experienced and have not read any documentation of this happening on the PC. Thank goodness!

It is an older thread and Adobe suggests the issue has been resolved but it sure sounds similar to your experience.
And another Adobe post on this issue …which they say is resolved in 5.02.

I could be wrong, but I could swear that PrP didnt “like” AIFF audio and preferred wav.

What information can you provide on the audio files? Like format, sample rate,etc.
