I have a rather large and complex project going and have a situation where, at the end of every session I save, then quit, which causes a crash. Reopening later, everything seems fine. Anyone else seeing this? I’m wondering if I should start a new project and import the old one?

Yeah, Premiere Pro has Project Saving issues right now in CS6 and I mentioned in my latest article, I’ve been VERY vocal about this with my contacts at Adobe. They still answer the phone though so I guess I haven’t pissed them off too badly. 🙂

My advice would be to create a New Project and import your original one into that one. It’ll all come in as one bin. Just remove everything from that single bin and carry on.

In reality there’s probably nothing wrong with the original project, but sometimes things get a little wonky on larger projects.

Thanks Guys, I really appreciate the response. I’ll try Walter’s suggestion.

All this crashing in the middle of a project is a bit nerve wracking, to say the least.

FWIW this saving issues seems to be affecting only Macs. I have never experienced and have not read any documentation of this happening on the PC. Thank goodness!

Bob I hope you are able to resolve this problem soon.

[Bob Pierce] “All this crashing in the middle of a project is a bit nerve wracking, to say the least.”

Best of luck and I’m pretty certain things will get better moving forward.

I really appreciate the help, guys.

Walter – please keep up the blog posts. They’re a great source of info for switchers like myself. I only wish I had read your “gotchas” post a long time ago! I’d like to buy you a beer next time I’m in Atlanta.
