You are always using the Mercury Playback Engine. 😀 But only certain graphics cards support CUD processing.Some folks recently have reported problems using it.
Heres a screen from my Mac Pro. I have a card that doesnt support CUDA so the place the pointer is showing is greyed out and set on “software”. With a CUDA supported card you can manually select the other choice which is “hardware”.
If you have that ability, try another setting.

This simulation at first glance looks like it would benefit from the use of Expressions in AE.
I will leave it to folks more skilled then I to elaborate on that thought ::D

Wow, that is very wrong. I expect PrP to give me frame accurate playback, rendered or not. And I get it.
What kind of graphics card do you have? Are drivers and PrP up to date?
If your card supports CUDA are you running with CUDA on or in software mode(off)?

A year later I have an HP Z820 (see specs below) running CS 6.03 and I can play just about any media without the issues I talked about a year ago. You really need a system that maximizes the operation of the Mercury Playback engine.Thats CPU/GPU/Ram/Raid speed/File Placement.

There are several rooftop scenes but I think the one you are referring to look like they stripped all the chroma (color) out then applied a greenish tint.

FWIW, I have a Kona 3 on my HP Z820 with CS 6.03 and the latest drivers. Playback is rock solid with no issues .

Walters right. There are so many different looks / styles / concepts used in music videos that you need to pick ones you like and use them as inspiration. Thats what I did with this music video seen below.

Wow Ann, that good to know. My 6 year old Blu Ray player doesnt have that USB ability. But its cool to know the new ones do.
