Adobe says to never install K Lite codecs since it really screws things up.
When asking a question on thePremiere user-to-user forums, you can make it easier for folks to help you by proactively providing the answers to the following questions:
What version of Premiere? Include the minor version number (e.g., PrPCS5.5 with the 10.5.1 update).
Have you installed the recent updates? (If not, you should. They fix a lot of problems.)
What operating system? This should include specific minor version numbers, like “Mac OSX v10.6.8”—not just “Mac”.
What kind(s) of source footage? When telling about your source footage, tell us about the codecs, not just the container types. For example, “H.264 in a .mov container”, not just “QuickTime”.
If you are getting error message(s), what is the full text of the error message(s)?
What were you doing when the problem occurred?
Has this ever worked before?
What other software are you running?
Do you have any third-party effects or codecs installed?
Tell us about your computer hardware. Include CPU type and number of processor cores, amount of RAM installed, GPU, number of disk drives, and how any external drives are connected.
Do you have any third-party I/O hardware (e.g., AJA, Matrox, Blackmagic, MOTU)?
Are you using OpenGL features in After Effects?
Does the problem only happen with your final output, RAM preview, or both?
Are you using Render Multiple Frames Simultaneously multiprocessing?
What is the exact sequence of steps that you are taking?Screenshots and sample movies are often very useful in showing exactly what you’re seeing, and can thus make getting an answer faster and easier.

Brian, if you plan to edit HD material, your really need a PCIE or USB 3 external raid in order for PrP to function .
Media should not be on internal or firewire drives for best performance.

The AE Camera Tracker, PF Tracker and Syntheyes are all 3D Camera Trackers using points.
Mocha is an object tracker (primarily) that tracks planes.

This configuration was set up for me by ADK Computers who designs, sells and consult on edit systems specifically that use Adobe CS software.
I could speculate on the performance increase Ive experienced since my new HP Z820 was configured. But folks like Eric Bowen at ADK know more about the details of this than I ever will.

where he is a regular participant and Im sure he will share his experience and knowledge with you. Sometimes when I ask him about computer related issues, I find I understand about 50% of the explanation 😀 Im an editor not a computer scientist. And its those guys who know how to get the best performance from soft and hard ware.

Setup 1 with minor modifications would be the one that you would get best performance .
I keep OS,APPS & Project files on the computers internal drive.
Then I put Media, Previews, Media Cache on my fastest drive which I would guess is your raid 0. In my case its my external Dulce DQg2 Raid 5 array.
Finally I export to another hard drive. This avoids playing Media back and Exporting video files to the same drive simultaneously.
