Sure it can. I just hook the HDSDI output from a playback deck (PDW-F70) to the HDSDI of my Kona 3 and transcode to Prores as I digitize.
I realize this is not “Injesting” files, but it brings in the XDCAM as clips in a format I like to use.

I believe that I read that the newest FCP importer released on the reduser.com site supports Native as well as 2 flavors of Prores.

Particle Illusion has a wonderful library of presets, but its only 2D. What I love about Particular is that it is 3D and interacts dramatically with the After Effects environment and camera.

Consider importing the XDCAM from the HDSDI output of the PDW-F70
(playback deck) outputting in 3:2 pulldown mode (if shot at 23.97) thru a Kona 3 card, converting the video to Prores 1080 29.97. Then edit on a standard 1080 29.97 8 or 10 bit timeline. I only suggest these specifics since I have repeated success with this configuration.Your
    details may vary.

Does this sound like the problem folks had with Quciktime 7.2 (I think) where Apple had implemented
the copy protection function that stopped users from making any Quicktime files that were 10 minutes or longer?

Heres a thought to deal with MM’s finikyness with speed changes/freezes and such…
I know baking in-exporting and importing is one approach. Since I use the “send to” function alot with Motion 3, how about this. Everytime you need a freeze or speed change or speed ramp….send the clip to Motion, create the speed effect, save the project then jump back into FCP. Theoretically it should work and take advantage of the quick work flow between FCP and Motion.

I have been asking about the Particle Illusion AE plugin for 2.5 years now. Draw your own conclusions…

Thanks Walter. I was digitizing each shot as I entered the indicated best take from the script notes,
so that explains why I couldnt see it.
