So lets tell our clients to patiently wait until Apple gets around to giving this software what we need ! FC7 isnt a great alternative when lots of transcoding is needed. Im heading for the company that takes professionals seriously..HELLO ADOBE!

Personally, Im interested in running FCP X on the same drive as my other apps (AE, Photoshop, Mocha, DVDSP, Compressor, Syntheyes, etc) so I can test it in my standard work flow. Since “nobody know nuttin'” at this point, thats my plan and Im sticking to it until further information is revealed 😉

Just wait till MC 6 which is reported to be a rewrite to 64 bit. Chances are you will experience the same upgrade challenges and plugin revisions that AE went thru (CS4 to CS 5) and FCP will be going thru. You havnet dodged the bullet 😉

No surprise to me…went thru the same thing when After Effects went from CS4 32 bit to CS5 64 bit. Thank god I dont have many plugins for FCP 😉

Given your timing, I strongly suggest Premiere Pro.FCP 7 is your only other alternative at this time.FCP X is a vast unknown and will need refining over months / years to come. By buying Premiere you will avoid the time consuming process of having to convert your clips to a codec that FCP functions well with ( like Proress, etc.) Pay no attention to the statement made by the previous responder…

“in the current world FCP is easier to use than Premiere”

That is a subjective statement that is not necessarily true for all users..In many ways Premiere is easier to use (dynamic link to After Effects, no codec conversions needed, not a brand new product like FCP X).
