  • Ooh… I like the sound of this. I was thinking of something like old school analog assemble editing. This should do the trick. Thank you. Will try tmrw.

Are all the files on an external drive?

do any of the files have odd files suffixes?

Try converting any odd files (the ones that don’t play) too a standard codec (mp4)

Do you have preferences set to allocate most memory to premiere and not other applications?

Do you have preferences set to favor performance vs memory?

Hm. Trying to think of other stumbling blocks…

What version of the Adobe software are you running?
most recent 12.1.2 (I auto update)

    Win or Mac?
Mac. (sorry, thought my auto-signature was on when I posted)

Any changes/installs on the system at the time “queue” stopped working?
    nope

Is “queue” gray-out/unavailable, or does clicking it simply do nothing?
no. I can export using media encoder… but the captions aren’t there

If you manually launch Media Encoder first, does “queue” work then?
    queue works… just no captions

radial wipe isn’t included on my current CC Mac version either.

  • I tried clearing cache and preview files…and a whole bunch of other stuff…but what finally actually worked was changing the project file name and the sequence name… it turns out there were ” / ” marks because the file name had a date in it… and apparently this was the problem. I removed any strange punctuation and the problem was solved, exported just fine…

must be a bug with the new update not liking some characters because I have dates in my file names before, many times…

    and onward we march….

  • the footage was shot in 1920 but, as I often do, I use wondershare to downconvert to 1280 before I bring into premiere because the video ends up going to dvd or more often- a very small window on a website. I have a 2008 mac desktop that can get a little finicky with with multiple layers of 1920 files but has no problem with 1280…

I hear us. I guess I was looking more for direct experience from an ac90 owner on whether they saw the firmware upgrade as useful to them.
