  • not exporting caption anymore?

Posted by Tom Adams on June 11, 2019 at 1:56 pm

I used to be able to export video with captions via “queue” > media encoder but I am no longer able to when using “queue”. Instead, I have to use the “export” option

this slows down my work flow tremendously.

Anyone else having same problem? do you have a solution? thanks

What version of the Adobe software are you running?

    Win or Mac?

Any changes/installs on the system at the time “queue” stopped working?

Is “queue” gray-out/unavailable, or does clicking it simply do nothing?

If you manually launch Media Encoder first, does “queue” work then?

    System:
    Dell Precision T7600 (x2)
    Win 7 64-bit
    32GB RAM
Adobe CC 2017.1 (as of 8/2017)
    256GB SSD system drive
4 internal media drives RAID 5
Typically cutting short form from UHD MP4, HD MP4, and HD P2 MXF.

most recent 12.1.2 (I auto update)

    Win or Mac?
Mac. (sorry, thought my auto-signature was on when I posted)

    nope

no. I can export using media encoder… but the captions aren’t there

If you manually launch Media Encoder first, does “queue” work then?
    queue works… just no captions

It’s not just you. It’s been like this for over a year now. It’s a known Adobe bug that they have ignored. My team exports about 30 videos a day with Open Captions and we have to export them all from within Premiere. Media Encoder is a no go. No end in sight for this either.

well, ok, misery loves company I guess… but weird. This only started happening to me a few weeks ago. What a pain in the butt. Come on Adobe…
