    Thanks Stephan.

I am just so use to having the BROWSER area being my “database-container” of media that it is hard to separate from my current Adobe-Paradigm.

Since FCP allows you the flexibility to drop things on the timeline from Finder, it comes off as a little scary in terms of project management; I liked having my media-management completely separate from my artistic canvas.

I would be curious if anybody else had advice here – esp. those from an AE background.

Let me try to explain it better.

Let’s say you are doing some detail modeling with a spine that has MANY points. As you go through and tweak them over and over and over, it gets quite tedious to use the mouse for selection of points. I was use to Maya’s methodology of not using the mouse for sequential selection but using the arrow keys to traverse up and down the splines points.
You would use the arrow keys to select points and then the mouse to move them.

    Does that make sense?

    FYI:

I found something here that works, although I don’t understand why:

When I uncheck this, all is well:

    Here is my system:
    OS: WinXP Pro SP2
    Video Card: GeForce8600GTS 256MB, Driver up-to-date.
CPU: Intel Dual core @ 1.86Ghz
    Ram: 2GB

I believe (hope) this system is adequate enough and it’s my settings
    that are the issue.

Can I actually update myself to Extended OpenGL (v10)?
[not sure what I actually have now..]

    Cheers / TH

June 28, 2007 at 11:43 pm in reply to: Cinema 4D or Maya

I stop using C4D at version 7 because I started working in Character Animation. I started using Maya 4.5 and continued up until version 7 and loved it.

C4D launched Version 10 and I investigated it quite thoroughly as it announced new CA tools.

I went back to C4D since May 2007 and have not needed (or wanted)
    Maya any longer.

    Hope that helps mate, TH

    Thanks Adam, spot on!
When I changed to Software Shading, no more sparks.

What is the advantage of OpenGL over Software-Shading?

    Cheers,
