Take your original clip and move it to the end of your sequence. Mark an outpoint at the end. Make your speed change, which will extend your clip past the outpoint. Drag the end of clip back to your original outpoint. Then drag your clip back to it’s original place in your sequence. This is the workaround that I used…..until fc7, now it works as expected. Has been a big pain, but at least it works now. Enjoy!

  • Instead of importing your still back to fcp, try using QuickTime pro. It can import stills and create a at movie. I’ve done it with animations that were sent to me as individual stills.

  • Have you tried optical flow within motion?
It’s under the timing parameter, and usually isuch smoother than fcp. It does take a while but is worth it in most cases.

  • Thanks Zane, that’s what i was hoping, but to no avail.
I downloaded the silicon Image “snow leopard” capatible driver, they had 3 on their site, after multiple tries, still no drives mounting.
Since I have a project to start on turasday, I’m cloning back my old system.
    Live and learn!

SOT reminds me of another industry term that has always baffled me…
MOS = Mit out sound (without sound)

Anyone know the origin of this?

I use a company called Xprove.

provides streaming or download, for a small monthly fee.
if your client has a browser and internet connection, they should have no trouble viewing it.
The more savvy ones can download it and watch it without internet delays.

they allow for comments, your logo is on your page, password/userid protected.

    did you import from P2?
if so, go to preference and check “remove duplicate frames”, re import, and see if that helps.

dvmatte is a great plugin for FCP for greenscreen.

Once you get used to it, you will never use FCP for chroma key again.
fairly inexpensive too, I think round $100
