  • video plays at 4x – audio plays fine

I am trying to edit a clip. It plays fine in quicktime, but when I put it in final cut the video plays 4 to 10x faster than the audio. What is going on here? All my other videos from this project worked fine in FCP.

I altered the speed on the video to %40 and it matched the audio. This is a strange problem. Does anyone have any clues?

    Hi Steve,

    1. What format was this shot?
    2. What format is the Quicktime file?
    3. What are your sequence settings? (framerate, codec etc)
    4. Does it play correctly when you double open it in the FCP viewer, as opposed to the timeline?

If you answer those questions you should find the problem as it sounds like there’s a settings mismatch somewhere along the process.

    All the best,
    Alex

    did you import from P2?
if so, go to preference and check “remove duplicate frames”, re import, and see if that helps.
