Another method is to hold Option/Alt key while dragging your clip to the timeline clip that you want to replace. You can do it from your source window as well. In points on the source will stay intact.

Are you using a key in your sequence? I can’t figure where black specs would appear from other than maybe a bad key… but if you could show us a frame of what you are talking about, that might help track down the problem.

Actually, if you go look into your Sequence Settings, you can see what your preview is set to use. Either matching your sequence or using I-Frame MPEG. They DO NOT match your export settings. The export is whatever you make it. PPro has no idea what you will be exporting your sequence to.

Guess that all depends on the flavor of 4k and data rate. Don’t know what sort of storage it’s coming off of… I didn’t see that posted.

Like Dave said, you can open your project and save a copy from the File menu. Open the copy and delete all unnecessary stuff.
Alternatively, you can duplicate the sequence, create a new project, then import that sequence into a new project. But it just brings in the sequence.
I don’t know what you have planned, but it sounds like a media management nightmare once you start doing that.

Gotcha.Yeah, I twirl open my bins, which works in creating a new sequence into a bin. Looks like it doesn’t do that with a bin open in it’s own pane. Seems it should work that way. Might be a request to Adobe to get that.

If you have your bin selected, it will create the new sequence in that bin.

Are you looking for the bar at the bottom of the timeline? There is one there. You can use the ends to zoom in/out or grab middle of the bar to scroll through the timeline. Also, plus(+) and minus(-) will zoom in/out of your timeline.
