February 23, 2018 at 5:24 pm in reply to: capturing audio mini plug, right channel only. ideas? How are you taking the L/R RCA into a stereo 3.5? And you’re sure it will keep L/R when combined into the 3.5? And the 3.5 plug is stereo with two black rings on the male plug? You are using something like this, correct: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01D5H8KO2/ref=asc_df_B01D5H8KO25381273/?tag=hyprod-20&creative=394997&creativeASIN=B01D5H8KO2&linkCode=df0&hvadid=167146065113&hvpos=1o1&hvnetw=g&hvrand=8673248919052222939&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9030448&hvtargid=pla-303037967706
I’m just double checking all this.If so, I have had some issues with some 3.5 stereo plugs that also allowed a microphone and needed to slightly pull the plug out a little to get a good connection. Not saying that’s the case, but another possibility.

If trashing the prefs doesn’t work. You might be looking at an uninstall, use the cleaner tool to rid of all, then reinstall. Sounds like it really doesn’t like something if it is doing it every time you load the app. I’m assuming this happens with any project, even a new project.

Have you saved a custom workspace? Under the Window file menu, you can save a custom workspace. If you end up changing something within that workspace, you can reset to your saved workspace. Your saved workspace will show on that top bar so you can easily switch to/from it. Or you can assign shortcuts. You don’t need to keep juggling panes around.
I use a custom workspace and generally don’t go much from it. Occasionally I’ll move something around and need to reset it, but that’s easy peasy.

February 22, 2018 at 3:38 pm in reply to: how to drag just the video or audio clip in a linked clip?Do you want to move or trim the video track? You can hold the option key and click on the head or end of the clip on the timeline to trim just the video or audio. If you want to move the video clip completely, just unlink.

If you have it on your timeline, just go into your effect controls and bring up the left channel or lower the right channel in the Channel Volume – it shows up there by default on your stereo track.

February 20, 2018 at 7:15 pm in reply to: Screen Freezing A Few Minutes Into Rendering SequenceSo it renders to a certain point then crashes? Is it at the exact time of your sequence each time? Or is it not getting anywhere into the sequence?
If it’s crashing at the same point rendering your sequence, what is happening at that pint in your timeline? I would look for plugins or file that it may be having an issue with.

And what effects are added to the video?
-
It plays fine in your source monitor, but not on your Program monitor? It looks like a corrupt file, but it wouldn’t play well in the Source monitor if it were.
Or is this only after exporting out to file? -
That was a long shot.
What are the details of your YouTube videos? Image size, codec, frame rate. And what is your sequence settings? Are you scaling any of the videos?
And if you take a problem file, drag it to the New Item icon in the bin and make a sequence from that file, then render it out using Match Sequence, do you still have the problem?
Something’s not right, and it could be your original files. How did you get them off of YouTube? -
Looks like the original footage may have been interlaced? Don’t know if it will take care of the problem, but you can try right-click on your footage in your timeline, select Field Options. Try Always Deinterlace or Flicker Removal. See if either one of those work for you.
