Can’t say I have a solution for you, but I get a similar issue with my left/right arrows. If I’m in my sequence, I usually jump over to my preview window and will get it working, or vice versa. I haven’t been able to track down any reason for it. I’m guessing the up/down arrows is the same?
Lots of posts about it when doing a search, but nothing that resolves the issue.

Do you have your Playback Resolution in PPro set to “Full”? Are you viewing your rendered file in PPro or in a media player like QT or VLC?
What are your sequence and render settings?

I do this same sort of thing. I have a template project folder with containing folders. I duplicate that for many of my projects. Within that my template PPro project has the same Bin structure as my finder folders. Drop in footage, graphics, audio where I want them and import into the same Bins. Keeps everything organized. And I have a couple pieces of media that are always there when I need them.

Yeah, I would say speed up the footage a little and drop a posterize time effect on it, then drop Lumetri and adjust color to taste.

I’m with Dave on this one. Copy entire contents of your card to your hard drive. And just bring in your 1GB file via Media Browser and edit. Export final to whatever you need. Sounds like you want to make it more complicated than it needs to be.
If you’re doing a multicam, you may want to do something to make editing easier if your system bogs down. But a single camera shoot? Just edit the camera file.

With recovery there is a good chance of corrupt files. So it depends on how important the data on the drives is. Best bet is another RocketRaid card, like the one Bob mentioned.

You can ctrl-i to import, but with some cameras it is best to use Media Browser, select all your footage and drag into a bin.

Yes. It has always been there. That blue line on your timeline represents the frame you are looking at in your program monitor. As Tero said, you have to zoom into your timeline far enough to be able to see the little blue line.
If that freaks you out, you are in for a big surprise when something REALLY goes wrong. lol
