I am using BMD Ultra Studio 4K connected through TB2.

There really isn’t much configuring I can detect in the control panel that would affect this issue.

I am listening to my stereo sum (Ch1+2) via AES/EBU

I am seeing the channel mapping on my SmartScope 4K which is looking at the HD-SDI signal

I would be interested in knowing more about this evaluation.

Is this a subjective opinion/oberservation, meaning, you don’t like the way it looks? (which would be totally fine)

Or did you subject the uprez footage to some sort of technical evaluation? If so, I’d be interested to learn how to recognize a good uprezing job.

In my opinion a good story gets you in front.

I have seen so much 4K trash in the theatre by now that I would trade those experiences for a great film on VHS any time.

8K sounds nice but Resolution follows content. At least in my book.

Personally I have never used this forum to gain a perspective against the use of FCPX. I have embraced and creatively cherished the magnetic timeline way too fast and too intensely that the apparent shortcomings of earlier version could have outweighed this boost to my editing process.

But I have enjoyed most of the input here as it offered a perspective on FCPX in relation to the world it lives in: OSX, Mac Products, Peripherals and of course the world all this is being used in by the people that use it.

“FCPX – all things considered” would seem like a name that does justice to the breadth of information being posted here around the subject.
