Just thinking out loud here…
Two quick questions: have you been able to install it on a machine NOT running Windows 7? Might be totally off on this, but is it possible it is an administrative rights problem? If it is the first time it is being run, it would try to write a prefs file, correct? I’m just thinking maybe it isn’t allowing Cinema to do that.

Depending on where you are located, there are also classes offered. Sometimes attending a class can be helpful because you can ask questions as you are learning and get an immediate response.

O key for Frame Active Objects
or

Hmmm, I’ve always used inverse square since it is how light really falls off. Never had a problem with it blowing out the lights. I just adjust the light visibility settings and the falloff….
What type of light are you using? ie visible,volumetric, etc.

Under falloff, you don’t have inverse-square?
Are you using r12 Studio?

I guess I figured you had answered your own question:
I already figured out when I deactivate OpenGL it all gets back to normal.
Seems like openGL is the problem. You could make sure your Video card drivers are up to date.
