Sorry I wasn’t very clear. I created an effect in Marquee ( a title card for my film)… I save this as I always have done but when I close and open AVID, these effects now say “media offline” Twice in the past two days I have gone and deleted the .mdb and .pmr files and this is still happening.

  • John, Thank you! But how do I get to this screen?

But it won’t let me re-link. The option is shaded out, I can’t even choose it… And why am I losing the new title cards each time I close the project? Have you ever run into this problem:

You import a video and then the next video you import takes on the image of the prior video import but with the audio of the new one? I can’t figure out why it is doing this.

    Thanks

    Hi Michael,

How do you do this? :

“However, if you’re on MC5.x, you can AMA the Quicktime clips and consolidate/transcode them”

    Thanks!

  • Thank you for replying. It’s not just one clip, it was the entire sequence – it wouldn’t let me do anything (copy and paste, play, etc…) Where is this checkbox?

    Hey,

Figured it out. When I used Preview to export the image, I was using ‘Jpeg’. I switched to Jpeg-2000 with a 1,000 resolution and that did the trick. The image looks good now when I export. Thanks again, Timothy

    Ricky,

Thank you. I did import the image through the effect and put it on the filler, however, when I export the video, the image looks blurry and not great….I guess I will just have to live with it…

    Appreciate your time —

    Hi Ricky,

Thanks so much for responding. I used ‘Preview’ on my Mac to convert the PDF to JPEG. AVID wouldn’t allow too large a file but it would import 17,000x 22,000. The quality still looks the same though when I export it. Could it be how I am importing it into AVID? I am using the AVID DNxHD 175 MXF. Could it be ‘Preview’? Would using Photoshop make that much of a difference? Also, what so you mean by ‘render at the highest quality’? I have just been exporting it, I thought the render took place during that process.

    Thanks again!

  • Thanks for responding. Does that mean I have to put the file in the timeline and export it as ProRes?

    Hi,

I am having a similar issue, however when I try to AMA link it says “cannot link to file or volume” Would I need a plug-in?

I used a Canon XHA1 and captured the footage via FCP. I then took that footage from the capture scratch and put it on a hard drive. From this hard drive I tried to import but only the SD footage will work. When I try the HD footage, only a green screen comes up and it won’t let me AMA link.

    Thanks!

    Timothy
