But how do you do that? Just change the file name on the hard drive to the same name as the old one and remove the old one and relaunch the project? That’s how I did it last time, it’s just a shame to do it that way cause it could create confusion if the mixing engineer asks for the filename of the file I’m using. Not to complain, but other software doesn’t seem to have this issue. I wonder if Blackmagic just needs to figure something out about audio handling.

yeah, I had been doing separate fade out/in on separate tracks as a workaround. I think the issue has to do with ‘Layered Audio Editing’. While I have that enabled, if I first overlap two audio files, then apply a dissolve at the cut point between them, it only adds the second half of the dissolve. The first half is hidden and needs to be dragged out. See screen captures. Is this not happening to others?

After a lot of research I ended up going with this JBOD from Qnap and did a Raid 5 (kinda wish I’d done a raid 6):

For anyone with the same issue, what I did to resolve it was to re-create the text event using the “Text+” (Custom Title) rather than the “Text” (Basic Title). Seems like a bug in Davinci or something. For any Davinci folks wanting to test this, the font I used was “Bernadette” which I probably downloaded from DaFont.com.
