What’s really wonderful about the license is that it reverts to trial mode, so you launch thinking you’re OK, but then the software seems like it’s broken instead of just telling you the license needs to check in on the internet.
I had it happen myself…30 days offline between a family vacation and some construction work in my office building and now I pack up the Z800 to trundle it home to get it online so I can function until the internet is back up at the office.

I’ve been editing XDcamHDEX files since the format was introduced (PPro CS3 at that time).
When you use the Media Browser, it simply shows you the clips as if the folder hierarchy doesn’t exist. Transferring media is as easy as moving the BPAV folders with everything else.
The media is ultimately transportable in this way…unlike the FCP rewraps. As far as convenience, I can’t see how bypassing transcoding could be -less- convenient…

How does it not work?
Are you not seeing the metadata?

Like Ann, I’ve used Instant HD on interlaced footage many times over the years…never looked at the manual.
I’m not sure what will constitute de-interlacing before the plugin gets it…I suspect if you interpolate the video on the timeline with field options, it may not work properly.
I would say to interpolate the footage from the project panel (right-click > modify)

Lots of unmeasurables in this thread…
Not sure how something is 1000 times more or less dependable…does one cause your computer to burst into flames?
Usually there is a reason that a piece of software crashes “all the time” for one person versus running fine for others…usually due to something other than the software itself.
Does CC have improvements over CS6? Sure it does.
Will Premiere Pro CC run flawlessly on a machine where CS6 crashes “all the time”…I have to question that.

For a straight stereo target, you would have to pan each audio track extreme left and right…
(or just route them that way…different methods apply depending on your version).

It’s the Matrox wrapper…meant to be realtime with Matrox hardware once upon a time.
Back in the day these wrappers all read as being foreign unless you had the manufacturer’s decoder installed…usually on their card.
AVI2 should run with no red line…though I can’t believe you’d have to render much as the format is so small and lightweight for any modern computer…the red line doesn’t mean you HAVE to render, it just warns you of a perceived setting mismatch between the media and the sequence or of the application of enough effects that they may not be able to be rendered in realtime for preview…
I just play through most things with a red line, but I do recall that Matrox wrappers could be problematic back in the day, particularly when rendering from AE to a Matrox DV wrapper for use on a Matrox DV timeline…this seemed to be an issue periodically.
I thought that Focus Enhancements used to have a piece of software you could use to rewrap media from these recorders if it’s an issue…

I haven’t edited DV in some time so I haven’t really had any experience with DV footage inside recent versions of Premiere Pro.
If you are on a Windows machine, I’m a little surprised that you have to render the AVI 2 files frankly.
How are you creating your edit sequence?

As long as you use a Premiere Pro sequence as your source, Premiere Pro is launched and exporting…when the Media Encoder queue is running in the background while you edit in Premiere Pro, another version of Premiere Pro, called “PPro headless”, starts and runs in the background and sends frames to Media Encoder.
