August 23, 2011 at 6:12 am in reply to: RAID advice

    Thanks Bob

We are running FCP for video editing. Only use one mac, so not sharing looking for around 2TB of raid 1 (excuse my ignorance in this) I am looking for a device that has multiple drives that can be hot swapped. We use the fibre channel card on the mac for speed on the current fibrenetix box. Any advice welcome

Current device is Fibrenetix Qubex which is now old and has 6 500 GB drives within and I end up with 2TB of storage.

February 11, 2011 at 4:25 pm in reply to: Importing web page screen grabs

Was this thread ever resolved? We have the same issue. Trying to capture live screen actions. Been using Snapz Pro but when we add text either in FCP or via motion the video goes soft. Snapz gives us .mov at 25fps (we are in the UK) but no apparent depth or bit rate options. Any clues out there or tools we can buy?

    Thanks

March 30, 2010 at 2:43 pm in reply to: Livetype won’t open

    Thanks Rob

The problem is that I have only ever installed from FCP studio 3 on this particular machine. When the machine was purchased I loaded from an upgrade disc and then entered the redundant serial number from the old software. It worked fine until this morning and I can’t see what has changed to make it fail…

I tried installing the livetype discs from the old software and it loads but livetype still won’t launch. Any other ideas or suggestions welcome…

    Thanks for your reply John

I found this one already and it seems to work OK although the ppt seems a bit soft. We are working in PAL
