Livetype won’t open

Livetype isn’t part of FCS3. But if you upgrade from 2 to 3 it remains, much like the QT7 in Snow Leopard issue.
Go back to your FCS2 disks.

The problem is that I have only ever installed from FCP studio 3 on this particular machine. When the machine was purchased I loaded from an upgrade disc and then entered the redundant serial number from the old software. It worked fine until this morning and I can’t see what has changed to make it fail…

I tried installing the livetype discs from the old software and it loads but livetype still won’t launch. Any other ideas or suggestions welcome…

I think there’s a solution to this over at the Apple FCP forum. I actually something something on this. Wait. It was in a tweet yesterday or today. There must be a fix posted at Apple.

I have just purchased and installed FCP 7.02 on my iMac OSX10.5.8

I am attempting to open a file which is requiring Livetype.
The Livetype software in order to open is asking for a serial number which I assume is the FCP serial number. I enter this number but according to the Livetype it is the wrong number. Any Ideas?

Next I encountered this Additional problem but which should be in another thread:
2 then I attempt to log in to Apple support forum to post a question there. My apple ID is recognised and I am prompted to create a alias and enter info re computer model etc but when I complete all fields and click “submit” the same page just reloads and I can’t get to log in to the forum – I am caught in a loop as a “guest” being asked to create an account.
