A black background which is a littlebit transparant is no problem in Vewgas. However, when you want the size of the background to adjust automaticly to the size of the text, you can use Graffiti, a plugin for Vegas.

Go to the GENERATED MEDIA tab, select the text part and drag the text box you like most to the timeline. Next, customize the textbox to your needs.

Even with Mercalli I’m absolutely not satisfied. I haven’t found the perfect stabilizer yet…

From what I read from your question is:
You add a new video track to your project.
Next you context-click on the text box.Which text block? Where does it come from? Where is it now? Usually a new track doesn’t contain a text box…

OK, your computer can read XVID files, but Vegas doen’t like them. It means that you will have to convert these XVID files before you import them into Vegas.

This is what often happens when people start working with Vegas 8c. It has something to do with the new functions of the trimmer.
On top of the trimmer you will find a button SHOW VIDEO MONITOR. You just have to activate this one.
