A PI-plug-in for Sony Vegas would also be highly appreciated…

The histogram is also very usefull when you apply the effects LEVELS or COLOR CURVES to adjust brightness and contrast of your events.

It looks like you have selected a loop region and forgot to disable the option RENDER LOOP REGION ONLY.

Do you also have problems with installing other (non-video related) programs?

Which codec is used to make this avi file? If you don’t know, you can always check with GSpot:

Go to the menubar: FILE-PROPERTIES or start a new project (FILE-NEW). In the pop-up window that opens (tab VIDEO) you can give any size you like for WIDTH and HEIGHT

Yes that is possible. Are you working in PAL? If you go to the menubar: OPTIONS-PREFERENCES and tab EDITING, you can choose for NEW STILL IMAGE LENGTH (SECONDS) a value of 0.040, which will give all the new stills exact the length of 1 frame.

A RAM preview is temporaly, until you empty your RAM memory. However, it is supposed to be faster then a PRERENDER. But the PRERENDER is saved on your harddisk and is still there whene you open Vegas againn. The Prerendered file remains valid until you change something on this region….
A real permanent issue would be the option RENDER TO A NEW TRACK (Ctrl M).

Why are you not allowed to select RENDER LOOP REGION ONLY? Could it be that you didn’t make a selection yet on the timeline?

Another way to improve your poor preview is to select this region on the timeline and select on the menu bar TOOLS-BUILD DYNAMIC RAM PREVIEW.
