Are the scratches spread over the whole frame? Or just on the sides of the frame? In that case you could try Pixelans CleanCrop:

Did you try neat video (which is available as a Vegas plugin)?

“The human interface for these plug ins is not very smart — circular knob type settings are a pain. Cute but not practical.”

Personally I am not a big fan of New Blue plugins. But for the practical side: just moving your mouse up and down will also do. You don’t have to rotate the mouse in order to make your settings.

Probably this is a problem you have to solve in Windows:
Right click on the taskbar at the bottom of your monitor. From the popup window you select PROPERTIES and then in the popup window you select AUTO-HIDE THE TASKBAR-OK.
Now you should be able to drag your Vegas FX window up.

‘I know that is correct but it makes me wonder (stupid me) what difference does it make then as to what you set the project properties at.’

    Loss of quality?

‘Thanks Theo. So you are saying what you set in project properties does matter when you render?’

I have never heard of this problem, but could there be a virus involved?

Since you are using a Vegas 7 project in Vegas 9, you have to go to OPTIONS-PREFERENCES-audio tab- and select USE LEGACY TRACK SEND GAIN. This will make sure that the sends of the audio tracks behave as they did in Vegas 7.

‘How can you tell, other than watching the Sends’s meters jump or down? I’d like to send some new tracks thru the Sends as well but can’t seem to do it’

In the trackheader of the audio tracks you find two sliders. The lower slider is a multifunctional slider and contains a pulldown menu where you can select among others the assignable fx chains you have inserted. If you select these from the pulldown menu, you can see in the slider the level of the the assignable fx that is applied to the audio track.
