I’m having some problems with audio routing in Vegas9…

I’ve resuscitated a 3 year-old project that was cut in Vegas7. I had setup 6 busses and 2 Assignable FX nodes for mixing. Now I’m finding, either via the Mixer window or the Mixing Console, that I can’t seem to find or remember how to tell if a track is being sent to one of the AssignableFX Sends or not.

How can you tell, other than watching the Sends’s meters jump or down? I’d like to send some new tracks thru the Sends as well but can’t seem to do it, and playing with the Sends’ Bus track, or the individual tracks FX slider, doesn’t seem to help…

    I’m really mystified…

In the trackheader of the audio tracks you find two sliders. The lower slider is a multifunctional slider and contains a pulldown menu where you can select among others the assignable fx chains you have inserted. If you select these from the pulldown menu, you can see in the slider the level of the the assignable fx that is applied to the audio track.

This I know. But ALL the track have 0.0dB sent to all fx Sends, including the track I’d already set up as being sent to a Send. The difference is, that ONE track I’m hearing going thru the Send at the same level as all the other tracks, but NONE of the other tracks are apparently going thru the Send. How do I see a VISUAL indicator of which tracks are, or are not, going thru the SEND?

Since you are using a Vegas 7 project in Vegas 9, you have to go to OPTIONS-PREFERENCES-audio tab- and select USE LEGACY TRACK SEND GAIN. This will make sure that the sends of the audio tracks behave as they did in Vegas 7.
