Architect Studio 4.5 and deinterlace
Does Architect Studio 4.5 automatically deinterlace the MPEG2 template file from Vegas 9? When I previewed the render at Vegas there were the lines, but when I previewed in Architect, they were gone, and also gone on the DVD (viewed on computer with windows media player). If it does, how can I preview this in my project? All looks good except for fast movement.
Is it also correct that it doesn’t matter where you set the project property settings, as far as rendering goes? Only the rendering settings count when you render.
If all of this is true, then I understand. If it is not true, I’m plumb confused.
One last question: Why did my video size go from 720 to 640 when I rendered?

No, DVDA does not deinterlace just by itself. Can you give us information on the properties of your footage, the project properties and the rendersetting?

My camera is a Samsung smx-f34bn. It shoots 60i, Movie File Format: MPEG-4 AVC/H.264. I shoot at the highest settings.
I download the videos to my PC, and this is what I grab to Vegas. When I click on properties from the download, this is what I get: MainConcept AVC/AAC, 29.970 fts Progressive, 720 x 480 x 32, AVC, 24000 Hz, Stereo, AVC. (I don’t understand where the progressive game from, but it is very interlaced when I view it on my PC with Windows Media Player.)
This is how I project: NTTSC DV Lower field first, RESOLUTION good, Blend Fields, Pix ratio .9091, 720-480, 29.97 fs. 44100 Hz, Bit 16 RESAMPLE AND STRETCH good.
This is how I render: MainConcept MPEG-2, DVD Architect NTSC video stream.
Thanks for any help. I just want to set this for the best viewing on DVD with most players.

I would check the footage with GSpot to see whether it is UFF, BFF or non-interlaced. Because now you have some confusing information about the interlace-status of your footage.

Ok Theo, this is what it found: H.264/MPEG-4 AVC. So I guess it is still interlaced. Everything else I posted is the same.

So to summarize, you started with an interlaced MPEG4 (H.264codec) footage that you rendered to MPEG2 (DVD Architect NTSC video stream) which looks good on DVD (also when played on TV?).
So that sounds great!!!Just someting that could be improved: In the project settings you use GOOD for video resolution and audio resample and stretch quality. This could be BEST.
Your unexpected change in video format (from 720 x 480 to 640 x ??) is something I can not repeat if I use the MainConcept MPEG-2, DVD Architect NTSC video stream.
