Which codec was used for the avis that can not be imported anymore?

From your story it looks to me that your project is to big (to many files) and that your hardware can not handle this anymore. In that case you can split your project in several sub projects. At the end you create a new master project and drag all the different sub veg files to the time line. This is a nested project. Next you can render from the master project.
Do you still want to change something somewhere? No problem, just open the specific sub project, make your changes and the master project will be updated automaticly…

Yes, you can duplicate your track, blur the upper track and mask the part you need to blur with the event pan/crop tool. To change the position of the mask in time, you can either keyframe the position/size of the mask or you can use a motion tracker, such as the Vegas plugin Boris FX

Did you try to set the properties of this event in the EVENT PAN?CROP window back to MATCH OUTPUT ASPECT?

You should realize that not all fonts are suitable for video….
Resolution for Premiere:
NTSC or PAL?
4:3 or 16:9 (widescreen?
square pixels or non-square pixels?

What will be your end product? DVD? Then your codec should be MainConcept MPEG2 for video and AC3 for audio.

Yes, it is possible to capture as DV-avi in WMM, edit in WMM, render as DV-avi in WMM, import into Vegas and render as MPEG2 in Vegas. However, this requires rendering your output twice, possibly resulting in unnessecary loss of quality.
What is the advance of editing in WMM? Why not directly editing in Vegas?Theo
