I have fcp version 11.1 but what I would like to have as a result when I drop a shot of 50fps in a project of 25fps is to have the opposite effect of charlie chaplin movies 😀 I mean a slow motion, instead of that fcp removes half of the frames to create normal speed. I don’t want half of frames to be removed. I want a slow motion and double duration.

Yes I did the update and has the option that I was looking for! Although I didn’t see this option for the optimised clips. Is there something similar? Why only proxy relink?

Thanks I’ll check it. Although I have seen this to 2 mac pro (one 2013 and one older) and one Imac 2014. But I’ll check the graphic cards.

  • You can press shift T (or click transform). That way you will see the area that is out of your frame.

I use optical flow really often and helps me a lot too. I don’t think that is a frame rate issue but I’ll check this out next time and I’ll update this thread.
I am a freelancer editor so I use different editing suits and I’ll confirm if it’s a hardware or software problem.

Optical flow with 2 or 3 speed segments renders normally?

    Hi Diego,
Let’s say that the interview is 2 hours and your first cut is 50 minutes. If you don’t have any markers and you want to find a specific subject of the speech in your edit sequence, since you have cut it down and lost the timecode reference with your transcription it will be difficult.
Also if you take a two minutes area, make it disable and later in your edit make this area half then you will be lost.

Hi Sherril I am out for shooting so I can’t confirm my saying but I have done it before and I had no problem with the edits. Although I lost my mix (compressor and overall levels).
But don’t be afraid of the consequences because there are many precautions that you can take. Export an xml of your sequence. Import it in another library and make a test. Your original library with your original seq there is no way that will be affected.

    Ps.
    Thanks for your comment.
