    Arrghhh! This is so frusterating!

So I went to render the project (in Vegas 10 32bit) to send a preview to the client and it’s giving me a low memory error! So I thought, well maybe it will open in 64bit, now that it’s been modified significantly. NOPE! It froze at 72% instead of 66%:

Thank you! I think I remember using this solution in previous versions. I ended up just opening the project file in 32bit Vegas 10, and that worked great.

It’s crashed a lot though. It’s comparatively bad to Illustrator for crashes (maybe worse). It’s so frustrating. I realize it’s a powerful program and is trying to do a lot of things at once, but it would sure be nice if Sony could make it more stable.

  • I tried the white generated media. That works, except for the fade. It still darkens somewhat in the middle of the fade. The fade is the trick, even in a nested project, I’m not sure it would work.

Thanks for this. I found the Internet HD 16:9 720-30p and am now getting very nice results from it.

  • Thanks John! After finding this other thread: https://forums.creativecow.net/thread/24/923021 then reviewing the one at Sony, I found that same setting and get very nice results from it. Thanks again!

I think we should all complain, or start some kind of petition to Sony. Many of us have paid for multiple upgrades over the years, but they continue to give us crap output. I’ve been using Vegas 8 Pro until I got the trial of 10 today, and many of the settings haven’t changed a bit in the 2+ years. And the quality of these codecs is exactly the same!

They need to understand that having to render, then re-compress with separate software is unacceptable!

I just posted a new thread (didn’t see this one). Having this same issue. Seriously, can Sony really expect to ship a “Pro” software that has very poor export options? Surely they realize that everyone isn’t going to be broadcasting their results on TV. We need some decent options for outputting video for web and other stuff.

I love Vegas’ interface, but as I said in my new thread, nothing’s improved over 2 versions now! I’m going to have to consider Premiere for full integration with Soundbooth and my other Adobe products. Rendering everything twice as you guys have suggested just seems unacceptable for a product of this sort.

Really!? Its that easy? Wow. It seems like I tried that before (or maybe it was Photoshop as the image editor), and that’s why I didn’t think to try it here…. I’ll give it a shot. Thanks!

Thanks Mike. But again, I was hoping for a plugin. I have SoundBooth and could always export the audio, clean it there, then re-import it, but was hoping to save that time by using a plugin that would plug directly into Vegas 8.1’s track audio.

Wow, I’d love to get that. But when I said cheap, I meant like in the sub-$100 range. I’m not a full-time professional, and can’t afford to fork over that much for it (that’s why I’m still using Vegas 8). Any other ideas?
