Well that would explain the problem. Vegas has the setting as HDV, but its in an AVI type. As I said I’m no HDV expert, so that’s good to know. Thanks for your help, as I mentioned, I sorta fixed the problem by rendering as M2T.

Yes, it’s 8.0c, as mentioned in my original question. The HDV files are the .avi variety, but created (rendered) by Vegas 8.0c. So it seems strange they can’t be read by 8.1. I’m no HDV expert, but I assume that’s the kind of HDV that goes on miniDV. I partially solved my problem by re-rendering to the .m2v variety. Now I can finish editing in 8.1. Its annoying at best though. I’d prefer to use one version or the other, not have to switch back and forth to get results.

Maybe it wasn’t very clear but 8.1 reads it fine, so I don’t think thats it.

December 16, 2009 at 5:13 pm in reply to: How to find a programmer for a business partner? Thanks for your response. Its a program that enhances Windows UI. So the programmer would need to understand Windows and whatever be able to write in whatever languages work best when integrating directly with the Windows OS.
My background is in web design, UI, and marketing. That’s the part I’d offer the partnership. I can build and upkeep a site for it, market it, and also design the interface. So I just need someone to do that hard part: code it.

I guess I was just thinking it was the OS that could access more RAM. So if you were in 64bit OS, with a 32bit program, it could still utilize the additional RAM, but you’re saying the program gets an advantage from the additional RAM as well.
Very good to know. 9c seems to have fixed a lot of little things, hope it helps you with your issue. Thanks for the response Eric.

July 7, 2009 at 2:45 pm in reply to: How to make a background go beyond the boundaries of the element (CSS)?Yeah, that makes a lot of sense. And was kinda what I was thinking I would have to do. I was hoping that there was a way to give the background image an absolute position so that it would go beyond the bounds of the footer and wrapper. A little CSS to do this (if possible) would be a lot easier than restructuring a large portion of this WP theme.
I know I’ve made images position outside of the wrapper and such with CSS, but I’m no expert and can’t remember how. I just thought that maybe there was a way to do the same with a background image. Anyone have any ideas?

Its all just the default stuff for the WP theme. I want to be able to put a white background image behind the black 3-column footer area, but have the background go edge-to-edge like the header area does. Thanks.
