I just checked my records to be sure and found that what I was thinking was true: I’ve gotten the last several Vegas upgrades for about $150. It seems like they usually offered this via email a short time after the actual release of the new product. I think one time I even paid $250, then they did the promotion so I contacted Sony and they credited me back $100. Does anyone have any idea if they’ll do this again? Its a hassle to get them to credit you back money if they do it after you’ve purchased.

My guess is that the $50 introductory price break plus your choice of free software is as good as it’s going to get this time.

Yea, you have to realize that they increased the list print of Vegas Pro this time so it’s probably a percentage of list which would make the upgrade cost more this time around.

That’s what I was kinda guessing, but I just hoped maybe they’d give us the cheaper deal (especially those of us who have upgraded each time for several versions). I think I’ll wait and see, mostly because I don’t really have the cash right now. Thanks for the responses though. If anyone hears anything different, let me know.

And it’s $234.95 for the download version.
The $50 discount is applied when you get to the next step.
This price is for existing users who are upgrading, not first-time buyers.

Oh cool, thanks guys. $185 is definitely better than $250.
