Poor render results: too contrasty and over-saturated!?
I’m trying to render some video for upload to YouTube and/or Vimeo. I’ve been using Vegas 8 Pro and thought the poor results were just because the program wasn’t optimized. However, I’m trying out the trial of Vegas Pro 10, and am getting the same results! I’ve tried with various settings but the MainConcept AVC rendering does that weird blur thing where very few seconds the compression goes poor, causing it to appear to blur slightly. The Sony AVC encoder doesn’t have that problem, but tends to be very contrasty and oversaturate colors. Most of this is fine if its real-world video. A little extra color and contrast doesn’t hurt much, but I’m trying to edit some screen capture stuff in with live video, and it just looks way too contrasty and over-saturated.
Windows Media seems to have the best results (surprisingly), but still shows the over-saturation and contrast. Am I doing something wrong? Please help.
Rendering video out at 720p, usually with the bitrate at its highest (YouTube’s going to recompress it anyway, right?). Thanks.
