Vegas will not output Flash (FLV) I would recommend On2. The Sony or MainConcept AVC/AAC I believe are Mpg4.

If you Ungroup the audio and video as DSE has suggested you can the highlight (select) just the audio, place your curser where you want to and use S to split the audio. Another Split and you can delete that segment leaving everything else where it is – as long as AutoRipple is not engaged.

The normal windows rules work. Highlight one, go to the end of a string of events and shift highlight tyhe last one. They will all be highlighted and all move together. You can highlight a number of different events using control click and then (G)roup them. They will then act as a group. Just use your general Windows knowledge. Most of it applies.

Steves is probably the best way to do it but I have used your way many times. Take a snapshot of the last frame and place it at the end. There is no reason that you should not be able to superimpose text on that “still” the same way that you do on video. Add it to the track ABOVE.

When I set up to do a menu based project it doesn’t seem like I do anything special to get the menu to pop up first when I start the DVD, it just does. But I am not in front of my editing computer at the moment to check.

Not sure what your question is…. But it sounds like you may have “docked” your windows. You may want to undock them by grabbing the upper left corner where the 4-5 little dots are and drag it away from the dock.

Having your computer off for a month (or any period of time) should have no effect. Could you get a little more detailed in your description of the problem or possibly post a screen grab. Y6ou say you notice this artifacting at “event edges” and you have zoomed in to be sure there is no overlapping. If you look at each frame before and after this “joint” do the frames show the artifacting? If so how many frames each direction does it go?

Don’t know why it would start suddenly when it was not before. The standard answwer to this question is 1: Use non serif fonts 2: Set resolution of text event at twice project setting 3: Don’t use highly contrasting colors for text and background 4: Don’t zoom in on text to make larger, use a larger font. 5: Add a VERY SLIGHT gaussian blur to the text (vertical direction only – I think)6: If you can, use an outline on the text.

One way is to “group” the two pieces/

There are scripts that will rejoin Splits.
