    Mike,
    Thanks for the reply.
Actually, I misspoke. I am using 7d. Did not go to 7e because of the problems I read about. Still have 8.0 sitting in the box (actually there was no box) for the same reason.

    Edward,
    Thanks for the reply.
I am probably using the external capture app. I remember a long time ago I would get asked if I wanted the internal or external and I would choose the one for DV as that is what I was using. But I do not get asked that question anymore. I did go for a rudimentary search for a menu item but could not find one. When I get home this evening I will do a good search.

I have a Mitsubishi HD VHS player/recorder that has firewire but I doubt that anything that was analog only (VHS decks) would have a digital port (firewire). You are probably stuck with and intermediate device such as the Canopus.

    Place media on track two
    Place logo on track one

The only thing you will see at this point is the logo

Use either event pan and crop or track motion to resize the logo to the size and placement that you want it.

Click on event Fx on logo event and choose chromokey. Use dropper to choose the black background on the logo.

You should now see logo (with no back background) superimposed over the media on track two.

Vegas sees from the top down. You will see whatever is on the top track unless you resize it or change the opacity to see what is beneath it on track two and so on.

    Muke,
Shouldn’t it be “computer RGB to Studio RGB” to limit to 16-235?

  • then change the track’s transfer mode to overlay.

    ???
