I’m not sure if you can burn a blu-ray project on a DVD with Encore. Maybe you burned a normal SD DVD that is specced to 720×576 PAL or 720×480 NTSC.

You can do selective stuff with a adjustment layer or you can keyframe a colour effect to go from no saturation to normal. There’s a lot of ways.

I’d say that the poor students might be better off with a student version of Production Premium CS5.5. The whole package is about 400 euros and has anything one would ever need.

Is it possible to get a LUT for the footage? It’s easier to use a LUT instead of just eyeing it.

If you need to change effect/plugin settings you need to select the clip that has the effect and select the “effect controls”-tab in the source window. The applied effects should be after the basic motion, opacity and time remapping in the list.
