Set the time display of the effect to 24fps. The effect always defaults to 30.

Actually it was broken before. I tried it with CS4 and CS5 about a year ago and the support staff didn’t have any idea why it didn’t work.

A lot of people were gushing over the Cineform codec a while ago so I tried the trial out. The encode crashed 90% of the time and when I actually got a file out it was just video artifact garbage. So… Yeah. Not paying for that.

You might have set up AE to use too much RAM and it’s slowing it down.

I’d guess that a beauty product shoot would have a small army of make-up artists to do all that so one wouldn’t have to worry about it in post.

My Premiere and AE did the same when I had the Boris CC 5 plugins installed. The plugins put a preference file in the c:\windows folder and Vista made it read only.
I’m at school right now, so I can’t check it but it was named BorisFX.something, take the read only tag off and it should work.
If you don’t have Boris FX it might be the same thing with some other plugin.

I’d guess that it could be done with Avid’s own color correction tools. Have you tried those?

Aqua Teen Hunger Force is drawn with Photoshop, animated with After Effects and cut in FCP. I think Metalocalypse is also animated with AE.
