Prores works fine and Prelude is a pretty good tool if you need to transcode a bunch of files. You can also add markers and make some rough cuts in Prelude and send the clips to Premiere.

You can also bring image sequences in Adobe Media Encoder.

The only codec I’ve had serious problems with is native AVCHD. I’ve done onlines with DSLR H.264, R3D, DPX, JPG, TIFF etc. footage and it just works fine natively.

The presets are locked to current disc specs. There is no 30p support and the closest supported framerate is 29.97i.

Windows 8 is just Windows. I had to re-install AE but other than that I’ve had no problems with Adobe applications and their normal functionality.

I think you can render the individual clips out of Resolve to a different codec (with possible handles) that keep the original metadata that you can link it back in a NLE.

The Avid MXF codec pretty much only works nice in Avid.
