  • Looking for advice with effect / transition

    Hi

I have a project I am working on and am trying to create a specific effect. Since I am fairly new to PrP (using 5.5) I am not even sure it is possible but I have looked about and thought that there is no harm in asking for some advice. The effect I am trying to get is sort of an RGB split similar to the one used in stargate universe (https://i.imgur.com/yhaJr.jpg). I need to be able to ease it in and out, perhaps use it as a transition (although I guess I could apply the effect to both clips and layer a stock transition). I have seen similar effects for AE but they tend to be twitchy whereas I am looking for a sort of “color stretch” to the sides. I am aware that there is probably some very good, yet expensive plug in I could use but I really need it to be homebrew (student budget) or at least cheap. As I said I am not even sure it is possible in PrP and I may have to try doing it in AE but any advice would be appreciated.

    Regards

There’s a good and cheap plugin for that and it’s Videocopilot’s Twitch

Hey. Thanks for the reply and the link. I am aware of twitch and I think it is pretty much what I am looking for however as the name (and videos) imply is that it is a twitch effect and I am looking for a “stretch effect”. Also that is for AE and I am hoping I can get away with still using PrP.
