AVCHD is a terrible, piece of crap- codec that doesn’t run properly on anything. I would transcode it to a better format eg. Prores, DNxHD.

If you are using some older Elements version of Adobe software it might not support the CR2 files or your software is out of date. The Creative Cloud versions of the app support CR2 files.

Not really because that picture is huge. Do you have the “use maximum render quality”-checkbox selected in the export settings?

If you have clip/clips selected it’ll put the transition on both ends. If you don’t have clip selected it should put the transition in the nearest cut on active tracks.

What’s wrong with that functionality and what are you expecting to be as the comp background?
You can click the “Toggle transparency grid” button below the comp window to only see the transparency grid.

Is there a need to view the footage in that color space? Are you grading it in Premiere?

Are you comparing the files in Quicktime Player?

Right click on the sequence in the project panel and click on duplicate.

What sort of formats are you using and what are you trying to export it to? Also your laptop is pretty underpowered for any heavy CPU/GPU work.
