Background color on compositon?
When I make a new composition with my video clip, all I see is black or what ever color I select as the background. How can I fix this? Very frustrating

What’s wrong with that functionality and what are you expecting to be as the comp background?
You can click the “Toggle transparency grid” button below the comp window to only see the transparency grid.
