    Great!
So I can start learning DaVinci even without MacPro and Tangent Wave. I would like to build stable and fast workstation, meanwhile i can still work in Color on older MacPro and learn DaVinci in laptop, that I wanted to know.

    thank you for replies!

You mean H264 as input codec and output codec. If you do H264 input, grade and render out ProRes does it OK? I do not know why I would render H264 out of Resolve, but still it is an option.

Even in different codecs? DPX, prores, uncompressed,… they all look same after render and reviewing in FCP?

August 2, 2010 at 10:15 pm in reply to: Question about Resolve scopes

Correct me if I am wrong, but you can not run ultracsopes in win and resolve in os x on same workstation at the same time. For ultrascopes you need another computer and it displays instruments via software/graphics card in that cumputer.

Pocket Ultrascope does not need PC? It works without computer and you can just plug it in between SDI link to monitor? Or does it need computer in the same way as Ultrascope, it just works via USB 3.0 insted of PCI?

July 31, 2010 at 2:36 pm in reply to: Question about Resolve scopes

Resolve supported multiple monitors (so I could shuffle some of those scopes to a 2nd one), but the guy said it couldn’t.

What do you mean by that? So it does support two monitors in the same time, but not one at the time and shuffle in between them? Now I have two 24″ cinema displays and I can use one for scopes and another one for Resolve interface? Image preview is on 3rd monitor, JVC. Thanks for infos!
