like the above message says, your gonna have to compress it. for me, i work on a mac, but most of my clients use a PC for email, your can purchase flipmac studio to export and play WMV files on a mac through quicktime. this also allows you to export using quicktime conversion out of FCP to WMV. along with compressor. kinda depends on what your clients need. seems as if most my clients aren’t very computer savvy and i need to make it extra easy for them.

ok so i ordered a replacement, but i dont have the 2-3 weeks its going to take for shipping. anyone have any ideas on how to get this cd to work. its strange cause it worked before, and appears to have no scratches on it.

the still was 1140×960, RGB targa w/alpha, 32bits. its very strange, when i import it and drag it to the timeline. the still fills the whole canvas. when i check the motion tab, the scale says 50. even after scaling it back to 100 and rendering(Everything) it still remains pixelated. i tried trashing the preferences, but that did nothing for it. looks like ill try a clean install

lol, well thanks for the reply. i work in 8bit though so i render after everything i do. its as if FCP rasterizes the image after it scales it down to fit.

have you tried flushing all your render files. click on “Tools” and then click on “Render Manager”, put a check next to every file in the list and click ok. now, before hitting render. go into your scratch disk from the finder and delete the “Render Files” & “Audio Render Files” Folders. ive had a similar problem with render files and this seems to always fix it for me. good luck

hmmmm, i think your making rendering all to complicated. first you can set what you want to render with each render hot key, thats useful for your quickness even in Safe RT once you set it right. Also, to change this is only One drop down menu away. If you read the Manual. youll see there are different things that can need to be rendered in a timeline, and different indicators telling what they are and where. hint* “color”. i think apple has made it very simple.

thats strange, i really like my lacie drives. in fact, i have 3 of them. the 300gb lacie D2 is a nice drive equipped with firewire 800, which will obviously help with file transfers. Another thing i really like about them, is when hooked up to my Mac (dont know about PC) the drives turn on and off with the computer. its nicer than it sounds not having to shutoff everydrive everytime, or if you forget and leave it on all night. they also have plenty of connections, and can be RAID configured together. seems to stay fairly cool too.
