in my experience FCP lacks key quality. try using something like shake or after effects. results will show

If you wanna step away from iMovie (which eventually will be a good idea) try using Quicktime Pro to export. it works great, super quick and effortless. Also, if you get Flip4mac you can export WMV’s right out of quicktime.

no it makes no difference where it’s placed in the timeline. i tried making a new sequence and dropping it in there. not copied, with a new transition. does the same thing. i’ve never had this problem before.

quality is set to high and playback frame rate is set to full. there’s a button at the top of your sequence that say “RT”

well, sorry. Rendering just seems like second nature. anyways though. the transition was already 5 frames long. although i did try extending it to to 10 and 15 frames. the transition is a cross zoom. after flushing the render files, one thing i noticed was that the 5 frame transition did not need to be rendered. whereas the 10 and 15 frame’s did. my sequence is set to safe RT, and im rendering all with every option checked. the logo is a targa with an alpha channel.

lol, ok well i feel slightly stupid. But at least i figured out why it was doing that. from the right, i have my cinema display, another 17″ next to it, then my ntsc monitor (through blackmagic card). i use the far left side of the 17″ for the viewer and right next to it for the canvas, and the cinema display for everything else. well i guess because the viewer is right next to the ntsc monitor, when i drop down the font menu, it drops down, but on the ntsc monitor right next to it. but because the monitor is displaying the preview, the font list shows up behind it. guess i need to to some window rearranging. thanks for the help

its irritating clicking on a drop down menu and having nothing drop down, and as i’d hate to continue the controversey, but if i need good looking text, i believe it does not lie within boris or even FCP for that matter. having no Z axis and limited lighting effects does not allow for too much creative text designing in my opinion. but hey, to each their own. thanks for the help guys
