I opened a project that I hadn’t worked on for about a month and got a message that all my render files were offline. The timeline shows them as red or green, but when I try to render nothing happens. All the options in the render menu are checked.

When I play the timeline, I do not get a media offline screen when I get to the unrendered parts. Instead, I am seeing a green screen. If I change the RT options to Unlimited RT, the render files play back as pre-render quality, but the timeline still will not render. Finally, when I export a quicktime, the rendered files in the resulting quicktime look fine.

The timeline is a DV-NTSC timeline in FCP 5.0.4 on a 2.5GHz G5 with 1 GB RAM. The drive is a 1 TB Lacie firewire. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks,

    Todd

    Todd,

Hate to tell ya, but I had similar rendering issues a few weeks back and I tried everything to fix it, but to no avail. Eventually I reinstalled all software from the from the ground up and that fixed the problem.

have you tried flushing all your render files. click on “Tools” and then click on “Render Manager”, put a check next to every file in the list and click ok. now, before hitting render. go into your scratch disk from the finder and delete the “Render Files” & “Audio Render Files” Folders. ive had a similar problem with render files and this seems to always fix it for me. good luck

Deleting the render files worked. Thanks for the help,
