but even the color correction filters were not affecting anything in this project. that is the wierdest part of this whole deal. in a new project, the same clips could be affected by all filters, but in this project i see no effect…

thanks. i had found that one, and it got rid of my two-monitor set-up, but i’m still having a problem with freeze frames (mentioned on the FCP forum). also, i think i have a corrupted FCP project, even AFTER trashing FCP prefs, so not sure how to fix these little thingies…

ya, i realize about the output/broadcast monitor, and what is odd is that NONE of the filter affects are showing up on my monitor (though they did a few days ago)! yikes. somewhere i changed a setting so that my output monitor is only acting like a second computer monitor (which i don’t want). very odd…i’ve asked Blackmagic about this as well since i can’t figure out what i changed that made it this way…

my guess is that when this is figured out the flicker on the freeze frame will be gone as well? : )

this is happening even with the native FCP CG. simple text, no shadows, etc. once i get more than two layers of these, i get the beach ball. i’m also adding some Boris text, too, but it happens with the native CG as well. (by the way, this happens even if i’m not using my nested Lightwave anim that you helped me with on the other thread…) : )

May 23, 2006 at 5:03 pm in reply to: no video playback to monitor

i’m capturing BetaSP tapes from my 1800 using a Blackmagic Decklink SP card (and cables) and usually using the Blackmagic Decklink NTSC-DV codec for capture. This part all goes well, as it always has. Just no pix on my monitor now from the timeline. It has been this way since i had my previous problem (now solved) of “Error93-000” in my 1800 window. The video plays to my monitor during capture, but not from my FCP timeline.

Thanks Jeremy. Ya, that one has caught me a few times, but even with the capture window closed, even restarting FCP, still no video output…

Thanks Billy. I checked it, and it was already as you said. I tried all the other settings as well just to see if that might whack it into submission, but still no output…
