hmmm. i knew trashing FCP prefs could be helpful….but i guess so is trashing Motion prefs! trashed them and all erroneous dots have disappeared!

    eureka!

yes, i’ve told them to be sure to download the latest QT…sounds a lot like the new Mac vs. PC commercials. but the most cool thing about this is that the PC still has really neat things like a “clock” and even a “calendar”!

    : )

so, do you use streaming files on your iDisk, H.264’s, mpeg-4’s, er wut????

i had (erroneously?) told him he could do either, that is, download them OR view them right there on my iDisk from his computer. not sure what you meant by “progressive download stream”, but should i be rendering them all as “streaming” types in Compressor? it gives two choices for either streaming or download of QT 6 or 7 compatible, with the H.264’s showing up as the QT7 type. i had been sticking with QT6 compatible for the most part as i just figured that might mean they are a bit more “universal”, but maybe not so?

anyway, just looking for the “best” way for a client with a PC to view 50-100 Mb video files on/from my iDisk. thanks!
