I’m having similar problems. Done all the things to “speed up my Mac”, but the only big change lately is going to 2019 (v 13). I’ve googled how to make a 2019 project open in 2018 or 2017 and will try that. I’ve always wanted to travel in time, so this will be fun.

I think you’re right, but he says his version (“Platinum”) will not allow it. You need to spend the big bucks for the fuller version i guess.

    🙁

Ya, this IS weird. I was having the same problem. Going back to an old project from a few months ago, i was trying edit “simple” titles. And ya…you gotta do it in the program monitor. Very odd. And how to change fonts and sizes??? I wonder why they did this. I guess i just need to find the workarounds.

  • Ya, thanks. The $400 annual fee went away a couple years ago, which is nice, and using their Movie Maker seems to be the weak link in the chain. I can get several seconds of smooth-as-glass moves, and then it will hiccup. Very frustrating.

Oh boy…i knew it would be a simple solution, and it was. I always forget about the “Playback” category in PP preferences. There are audio settings there, too, that aren’t usually mentioned in the answers to this problem. All is well now. Although…on my main output monitor, the audio and video are a bit outta sync. Oy vey…i’ll figure out where that offset is.

November 7, 2017 at 4:36 pm in reply to: Mac OS Sierra vs El Capitan

Same question from me, so it looks like i’ll go to Sierra today…but “middle of a project”, i’ve always got several in-progress, so does this really get effected?? i’ve not seen any problems before with a current project that gets upgraded to a new OS. Anyone else??? Keep me posted if you have or know of someone who has.

Okie dokie. Thanks for the explanation. I still don’t really “get it”, but that’s okay. 🙂

    Hi,

Sorry, ya that woulda been some decent pertinent info, huh? I’m shooting the Sony NX5, recording on the 128GB FMU128 card/drive.

same problem here. always at one certain clip. i’ve deleted, reimported it. no change. i’m guessing it’s just a bad clip, though it plays fine in finder and in the PP browser viewer…until it’s put into the sequence.
