still messing with this…missed my online appointment today, but life should be better and more organized tomorrow…
in the meantime, the post house has told me they would prefer either the single files to be rendered out in DVCPro HD or HDTV 1080i 10 bit (this one i’ll let render overnight…), but i tried a few options today and i think i’m hitting on somethign.
before, i had been rendering my DVCPro HD project to a single QT file in the DVCPro HD codec…which would SEEM to be able to play back in that same timeline without additional rendering. not so. so today i rendered the project in smaller segments (like 5 different segments to output a 5 minute timeline). what i’m finding is that MOST of these 5 clips will play fine when put back on the timeline. the ones that require rendering have a 1920 x 1080 clip in those sections. that’s the only thing i can figure out as to why some of these would require rendering and some wouldn’t.
i’m going to go back and take those 1920 clips and convert them to 1440 clips and see if the single-clip-render problem goes away in those areas. i’ll keep you posted as to my progress…
thanks for helping out a bonehead!
