Have you tried capturing to a different codec to see if the problem persists? Prores HQ, or DV50?

If you’re really strapped for cash Visualhub does a pretty good job. It only encodes to flash 7 though, if you want more you’ll struggle to do it without spending a bit of money.

I think you mean Final Cut Pro 6 here…
Anyway, as for the problem it sounds like incorrect field order to me. Make sure your encode field setting matches the field order of your footage.

There is also the HVR-M35E – but you have to use firewire for device control…

There is a cineform codec for Mac I think, and also a mac version of Premiere…

Not in my experience…
This sounds screwy, but take the thick DVI-esque cable out and try swapping the ends round so that the end that was in the Breakout Box is now in the card, and the end that was in the card is now in the Breakout Box.

So we rolled the G5’s back to the previous version 5 drivers and they’re working normally again. Something does seem to be screwy with the V6 drivers and G5’s

Not the only one! We’re seeing it too with our LH’s after the V6 upgrade. But it’s only happening to our G5’s with the PCI-X version of the Kona. You hit an in point, then an out point – hit capture and then it will just randomly stop before it gets to the out. Doesn’t happen every time though – it seems completely random…
